Tzai-Shuen obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at Washington University in St. Louis. During his undergraduate studies, he was fascinated by the beauty of using mathematical models to describe human behavior and social events. He decided to switch his discipline from life science to economics in the master’s degree, focusing on experimental economics and neuroeconomics. During the years of the Ph.D. program, he also learned machine learning and artificial intelligence in the department of computer science and started to integrate the new methods with econometrics to solve real-world problems. After the Ph.D., he joined Bayer as a data scientist in a cross-functional team. He has been working on biotech, breeding, product supply, and commercial domain to improve operational efficiency. He enjoyed working with people from different backgrounds and learning different perspectives from them.
